Ontario’s Greenbelt covers nearly 2 million acres of protected land extending as far north as Tobermory and wrapping around the Greater Golden Horseshoe as it makes its way west to the Niagara River. Adjacent to, and often in the midst of, one of the fastest-growing regions in North America, the Greenbelt is an expansive landscape that includes some of the most significant landforms and landscapes in Ontario. The Greenbelt is comprised of the Niagara Escarpment, the Oak Ridges Moraine and the Protected Countryside.
