Our Solar Future is a FREE classroom resource which helps grade 6 teachers to run a hands-on science unit on solar PV with their class.
The units are connected directly to the Ontario curriculum. The integrated nature of their design allows teachers to integrate language arts, mathematics, and visual arts with the science and technology electricity and electrical devices unit.
Our Solar Future was created in collaboration with the Toronto District School Board but is available for use across the province. It contains three rich performance tasks based on solar electricity and ten "training activities" to prepare students to excel at the performance tasks.
