EcoSpark is urgently raising funds to support more quality programming for students impacted by cuts to outdoor education.
Canada’s National Framework for Environmental Learning (2025) shows that outdoor education and building nature connections are among the most effective ways of supporting education and improving the health and wellness of students.
EcoSpark is raising $15,000 to cover the program registrations to provide access for one thousand GTA students to quality STEM-based outdoor education on their school grounds.
Every dollar supports School Watch sessions in underserved schools, helping more youth learn outdoors and building lifelong connections to nature.

These hikes are free but a donation for EcoSpark is appreciated as we rely on the generosity from friends, family and partners.

How does the walk work?
Register as an individual or team (registrant must be 18+ years of age).
Attend an EcoSpark hike or plan your own.
Reach out to friends and family asking them to support Walk on the Wild Side and donate to your page.
We appreciate each and every donation.
Check if your company has a donation matching program.
All funds go directly to EcoSpark's school programs in the GTA, Grades 6 - 12. Your donation will help us get students outside!
Consider additional activities to enhance your walk and expand your impacts:
Take part in a citizen science activity on your walk (i.e. use iNaturalist to record sightings)
Share your experience on social media and tag EcoSpark
A note from the board:
EcoSpark’s Board and Staff will match the first $4,500 dollar donated to Walk on the Wild Side to help more students learn outdoors and connect with nature.
